Recently Mike and David installed branded environmental graphics at IBM’s Corporate Strategy office in the Financial District of Manhattan. Three words one could use to describe David and Mike are: creative, enthusiastic, foodies. This was David’s first trip to New York City, so you can bet they crammed in a whirlwind tour of food, museums, and site-seeing in addition to getting the projects finished.
They became well versed in using the New York City mass transit options including the subways, buses, and even the commuter trains.
Some of the sights they saw included the:
- 9/11 Memorial
- The top of the One World Trade Center
- The New World Trade Center Transit Hub
- Central Park
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art
- Grand Central Station
- Carnegie Hall
- Wall Street
- The New York Stock Exchange
- Saw Wye Oak in Brooklyn at the Warsaw
In addition to the New York sights there was the food. They found hidden burger bars, bagels, tacos, champagne popsicles, asian-fusion, late night pizza and rooftop cocktails. All that food was crucial to fueling not only the installation, but the six to ten miles of walking around the city they did each day.
We asked David which TV show felt the most like NYC based off of first impression of the city (his options were Seinfeld, Girls, How I Met your Mother, Friends, Gossip Girl, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) his response was Seinfeld and How I Met Your Mother. With a little bit of Kimmy in Times Square.
