We’re excited to be in the finishing stages of building an exhibit for the Revolution Mill (part of Cone Mills) history
exhibit in Greensboro, NC!
The exhibit will be part of a history learning center in the newly renovated mill. The building is primarily used as retail, residential, business and event space (see their Facebook for more information). This exhibit will give the new community a glimpse into the lives of mill villagers whose community once revolved around the mill.
We worked with a museum studies class at UNCG throughout the entire process: they conducted interviews with past mill villagers, collected artifacts, and wrote content. From there, we were able to create a floorplan and fill the space with displays, rails, wallpaper, and several interactive elements.
It’s awesome to see a building being preserved, renovated, and repurposed while simultaneously keeping its original charm. This space is going to look so great once installed — and we are honored to have been able to share the story of its past with its new generation of inhabitants.
