New Adventures for Catawba Science Center

 

Treehouse Adventures is an exhibit for Catawba Science Center’s youngest guests.  The exhibit takes visitors through all four seasons of the year, with unique hands-on interactives specific to each section.  Visitors can set sail in the"Treehouse Adventures" boat, explore hide and seek panels, build a snowman, harvest crops, shop for fresh produce in the farm stand, and more!  The exhibit's elaborate scene setting allows kids to use their imagination to create their own treehouse adventure!

Renovate and Innovate

 

We worked closely with Catawba Science Center staff to renovate the space formerly known as “Explore It!”   We began with a new floor design and fresh paint.  From there we installed large landscape murals that wrap the room.  All of the interactive installments reinforce the wallpaper mural in a way that makes the walls look as if they are coming to life!  The interactives include moving parts that inspire action, such as the tractor, which has a turning wheel and a trailer to deliver produce to market!  We stocked the inside of the treehouse with a map, binoculars and talk tubes from one end of the tree to the other.  Our design solution for this space will encourage kids to use their imaginations, test motor skills, and inspire new interactions with family and friends!
