Roanoke River Lighthouse and Maritime Museum
project type: fabrication , graphics , museums
The Roanoke River Lighthouse and Maritime Museum located in Plymouth, NC is an example of designer problem solving skills used to stretch a modest budget. To reduce production costs, we designed a set of movable exhibits that use fabric-printed graphics mocked up as boat sails to tell the grassroots stories of the river community. Our client worked along side us to locate salvage wood that we used in our fabrication process. Artifacts were collected by the community and later placed on the exhibit risers.
