Cranium Connection Brain Theater

The armature for this “walk in” sculpture was fabricated by first drawing a virtual head using CAD/CAM software (MasterCam) and then translating it into a wooden framework. These components were cut on a CNC router and an expanding urethane foam was then applied inside and out to a wire lathe on the armature. Hand sculpting of the hardened foam achieved the finished shape. The foam was then coated with an epoxy resin and painted to ensure its longevity.
