2003 US Open — Pete Sampras Retirement Plaque
project type:
With a career spanning three decades and the record for grand-slam victories, Pete Sampras has “redefined the word ‘champion’”. Upon his decision to announce his retirement at the 2003 US Open, the USTA decided to honor him with a special ceremony on the opening night. One World Communications, the USTA’s marketing firm, contracted Design Dimension to engineer and produce a special commemorative plaque that would be presented to Sampras at the ceremony. Working with One World’s visual design, our designers provided construction drawings and material recommendations to move production forward. Working on an extremely tight schedule, our fabricators, screenprinters and graphic production staff brought the client’s vision to reality and became an integral part of a very memorable evening.
