Marianne is the junior exhibit designer at DDI. She graduated from NC State College of Design in 2005 with a bachelor’s in Art and Design and a focus on exhibits. While in college, she studied exhibit design with Mike Cindric and Susan Toplikar, and played a major role in the reinvention of Playspace in the spring of 2004. The following semester, under the mentorship of Mike and Susan, she redesigned the lobby of Playspace, transforming it to colorful space with multi-color hand-stained hardwood floors, and custom-built interactive doors and skyscraper storage seating.

As an exhibit designer, Marianne has a knack for thinking experientially and being a multidisciplinary artist and designer. She derives immense satisfaction from watching people (especially children) interact with exhibits that she had a role in creating.

In her downtime, Marianne enjoys her new life in Carrboro as a city-farmer, tending her garden and watching her chickens. She hopes to find some time soon to write a book about raising chickens.
